So CD resolution is 16 bits and 44.1kHz or 16-bit/44.1kHz. There are two numbers attached to resolution – word depth in bits (the difference between the loudest and softest sounds that can be recorded) and sampling rate in kilohertz (you can calculate the highest frequencies of sound that can be recorded). In lossless audio, resolution plays an important role. Either you hear the finer details of a song or just be happy with an MP3 file. It’s impossible to teach anybody to become an audiophile.
